Pseudopeptidic Polymer Microsphere-Filled Liquid Crystals as High-Performance Light-Scattering Switches

Asha Kumari et al.

Summary: In this study, we reported the fabrication of light-scattering switches using polymer microsphere-filled liquid crystals (PFLCs) with pseudopeptidic bottlebrush polymers. The chain length of the polymer was found to play a crucial role in controlling the performance of the PFLC devices. This research offers promising possibilities for the development of PFLC-based switchable scattering devices with improved performance for optoelectronic applications.

Role of BaTiO3 nanoparticles on electro-optic performance of epoxy-resin-based PDLC devices

Asha Kumari et al.

Summary: The physical properties of PDLC can be adjusted to meet application requirements by controlling composition ratio and microstructure. The addition of BaTiO3 nanoparticles enhances morphology, electro-optic properties, and optical properties of PDLC films, resulting in faster response time, lower threshold voltage, lower saturation voltage, and improved contrast ratio.

Effect of functionality of thiol on the optical properties of liquid crystals/polymer composite films

Le Zhou et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the preparation and optical properties of polymer/liquid crystal composite films based on epoxy resins, polyamine, and thiol monomers. By controlling the functionality of thiol, the composite films achieve good diffusing ability and high visible transmission.
