Dynamically switchable dual-band absorber based on electromagnetically induced reflection in metal-graphene hybrid metamaterial

Mingming Chen et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a dynamically switchable dual-band absorber based on electromagnetically induced reflection (EIR) in a metal-graphene hybrid metamaterial. By utilizing the low reflection dips in EIR structure and the good absorption of graphene, two absorption bands with over 90% absorptions are achieved under different polarized incident waves. The absorption positions, electric field, magnetic field, and surface current distributions of the metamaterial absorber are thoroughly studied.

Mechanical control of terahertz plasmon-induced transparency in single/double-layer stretchable metamaterial

Jing Wang et al.

Summary: In this study, single/double-layer mechanically tunable THz metamaterial devices based on the polymer polydimethylsiloxane are proposed and experimentally studied. External mechanical stretching can exert a switch effect on the samples, affecting the transmittance spectrum and PIT effect of the materials. The PIT resonances disappear as the stretching ratio increases.

Dual-band electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) terahertz metamaterial sensor

Lei Zhu et al.

Summary: A dual-band terahertz metamaterial sensor with low loss and high Q factor of electromagnetically induced transparency effects at 0.89 THz and 1.56 THz frequencies is proposed. The sensor demonstrates high refractive index sensitivity at each resonance, indicating potential for multi-band/broadband terahertz sensing and detection technology advancement.

Three-Dimensional Printed Ultrabroadband Terahertz Metamaterial Absorbers

Zhonglei Shen et al.

Summary: Researchers have proposed a stereoscopic multilayered ultrabroadband THz metamaterial absorber utilizing 3D printing technique to overcome the fabrication complexities of traditional multistep photolithography processes. The feasibility of the proposed fabrication method for common out-of-plane THz narrowband absorbers has been validated, and the absorption capacities of the 3D printed absorbers are numerically and experimentally explained. These findings offer an efficient concept and fabrication technique for potential applications in emerging THz technologies, such as sensing, imaging, and wireless communications.
