On tau-functions for the KdV hierarchy

Boris Dubrovin et al.

Summary: In this paper, new formulae for the generating series of logarithmic derivatives of the tau-function of a solution to the KdV hierarchy are developed by introducing a pair of wave functions and utilizing basic matrix resolvent. These formulae are applied to various tau-functions, including the Witten-Kontsevich tau-function, the generalized BGW tau-function, and a modular deformation of the generalized BGW tau-function called the Lame tau-function.

Summary: The text discusses the topological expansion of the Jacobi Unitary Ensemble using triple monotone Hurwitz numbers, providing effective generating functions for multipoint correlators. It extends the known relationship between one-point correlators and Wilson polynomials.

SIMPLE LIE ALGEBRAS, DRINFELD-SOKOLOV HIERARCHIES, AND MULTI-POINT CORRELATION FUNCTIONS

Marco Bertola et al.

Summary: A simple algorithm for computing logarithmic derivatives of tau-functions of Drinfeld-Sokolov hierarchy of g-type in terms of g-valued resolvents is derived for a simple Lie algebra g. It is shown that for the topological solution to the lowest-weight-gauge Drinfeld-Sokolov hierarchy of g-type, the resolvents evaluated at zero satisfy the topological ODE.
