Summary: Metal-organic frameworks have attracted attention as functional materials due to their structural flexibility in designing materials with uniform nanopores. By studying the electrical properties of Cu-3(btc)(2), it was found that the absorbed solvent strongly influenced its properties. The highly insulating nanopores of Cu-3(btc)(2) allow liquids to be absorbed and used as solids.
