Umair Khan et al.

Summary: This study investigates the transient problem of blood flow containing gold nanoparticles over curved surfaces, utilizing irreversibility analysis with entropy generation/2nd law Thermodynamics analysis and PDE-ODE modeling. The results suggest that entropy may play a significant role in artificial processing for brain function analysis, and the inclusion of gold nanoparticles leads to an increase in velocity and temperature.

Summary: This study proposed a local-regional power loss analysis method based on multiphase CFD simulation results, investigating the energy conversion characteristics of a three-stage electric submersible pump under high IGVF conditions. Results showed that as IGVF increased, the total input power and total effective power first increased and then decreased, with certain areas experiencing significant power reduction.

Study of Slip Effects in Reverse Roll Coating Process Using Non-Isothermal Couple Stress Fluid

Hasan Shahzad et al.

Summary: The study focused on non-isothermal couple stress fluid inside a reverse roll coating geometry with slip conditions at the surfaces of the rolls. Mathematical modeling was used to develop flow equations based on conservation of momentum, mass, and energy, employing lubrication approximation theory to simplify the equations and obtaining closed form solutions for velocity, temperature, and pressure gradient. Numerical methods were used to determine pressure and flow rate, and the parameters were shown to have significant impacts on physical quantities such as temperature, pressure, pressure gradient, and flow rate within the system.

Unsteady heat transfer enhancement in Williamson fluid in Darcy-Forchheimer porous medium under non-Fourier condition of heat flux

M. Nawaz et al.

Summary: The study focuses on coupling non-Newtonian constitutive equations and hybrid particle models with conservation laws, deriving the energy equation under non-Fourier heat flux condition. Numerical solutions are obtained using the finite element method, ensuring mesh-free and convergent results that can be visualized. The results show variations in wall shear stress and heat transfer rate under different fluid and flow conditions.

Entropy optimized dissipative flow of Newtonian nanoliquid by a curved stretching surface

T. Hayat et al.

Summary: This article examines the radiative flow of Newtonian nanoliquid over a stretchable curved surface, considering various factors such as radiation effect, Joule heating, and entropy rate. By converting the given system to ordinary one and solving it through ND-solve method, the influences of relevant variables on velocity, concentration, temperature, as well as drag force and Nusselt number are studied. The novelty of this work lies in the consideration of second order velocity slip and convective conditions in chemically reactive flow, with a lack of research on first order slip condition and without convective conditions.

Melting heat transportation in radiative flow of nanomaterials with irreversibility analysis

Sohail A. Khan et al.

Summary: The melting phenomenon of phase change materials is mainly accompanied by changes in thermal heat density. Energy created from various sources can be stored in the form of latent heat combinations during the melting process. Microencapsulated phase change slurry offers advantages in high energy density and narrow temperature range for different heat energy applications. Scientists and engineers are interested in heat transportation during melting processes due to its applications in industrial processes. The study investigates the irreversibility in MHD convection flow of viscous liquid with melting effects over a stretched surface, considering slip condition and Lorentz force behaviors and developing an energy expression through dissipation, heat radiation, and Joule heating.

Numerical study of nonlinear fluid flow behavior in natural fractures adjacent to porous medium

Ali Arianfar et al.

Summary: This study investigates the fluid behavior in rock fractures, highlighting the impact of fracture parameters on hydro-mechanical behavior and the influence of the permeable zone adjacent to the fracture on fluid flow through the fracture. The results show a significant correlation between permeability values, Forchheimer coefficients, and connected surface area, indicating the easier passage of fluid through fractures surrounded by higher permeability zones.

Summary: This study analyzes the magnetized and non-magnetized Casson fluid flow over a stratified stretching cylinder, presenting an analytical solution using the homotopy analysis method and showing the effects of various dimensionless factors on physical quantities and flow profiles. It has been shown that the behavior of streamlines and fluid velocity changes with the Casson parameter, with different patterns observed for magnetized and non-magnetized fluids.

Simulation of entropy optimization and thermal behavior of nanofluid through the porous media

Zahir Shah et al.

Summary: The hydrothermal behavior of hybrid nanomaterial migration from a perforated and wavy container is analyzed, taking into account the impacts of buoyancy, Lorentz forces, and medium porosity on fluid motion. The study shows that increasing buoyancy and medium porosity enhance convective flow, while increasing Lorentz forces decreases convective flow strength and raises fluid temperature. The results also demonstrate the dependence of entropy generation on various parameters and derive analytical relations for average Nusselt and Bejan numbers.
