A 5-week-old infant born at term was diagnosed with acute necrotizing encephalopathy associated with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 based on clinical presentation, neuroimaging, and cerebrospinal fluid studies. The patient received high-dose intravenous methylprednisolone, tocilizumab, and intravenous immunoglobulin treatment, which resulted in significant short-term clinical improvement but long-term sequelae.
