Structural origin of magnetic softening in a Fe-based amorphous alloy upon annealing

Xing Tong et al.

Summary: Distinctive soft magnetic properties were developed in Fe76Si9B10P5 amorphous ribbons through systematic design of annealing process. The atomic structural evolution in short range order and medium range order is responsible for the magnetic softness. Both local formation of separated and densely coordinated Fe-metalloid clusters and generation of a homogeneous exchangecoupling contribute to the excellent magnetic softness.

Microstructure change in Fe-based metallic glass and nanocrystalline alloy induced by liquid nitrogen treatment

M. C. Ri et al.

Summary: The effects of acyclic liquid nitrogen treatment on Fe-based metallic glasses and nanocrystalline alloys were studied, showing that LN treatment can rejuvenate the materials and alter their thermomechanical and magnetic properties. The increase in energy and changes in magnetic domain wall movement and rotation were observed after LN treatment.

Effect of primary α-Fe on soft magnetic properties of FeCuNbSiB amorphous/nanocrystalline alloy

Jili Ding et al.

Summary: The influence of primary alpha-Fe precipitation on thermal and magnetic properties was investigated by producing Fe76.5-xCu1NbxSi13.5B9 (x=0, 1, 2 and 3) amorphous/nanocrystalline ribbons through melt-spinning. It was found that rapid quenching and heat treatment had similar effects on alpha-Fe precipitation. By optimizing components and heat treatment, magnetic properties of the ribbons could be significantly improved.

Crystallization behavior and soft magnetic properties of Fe-B-P-C-Cu ribbons with amorphous/α-Fe hierarchic structure

Yuluo Li et al.

Summary: By designing alloy systems with amorphous/α-Fe hierarchic structures, the magnetic properties of the alloys can be improved, including enhancing the saturation magnetization and coercivity. Further improvement in the magnetic properties of the alloys can be achieved through appropriate annealing processes.

Nanocrystalline Fe83Si4B10P2Cu1 ribbons with improved soft magnetic properties and bendability prepared via rapid annealing of the amorphous precursor

Yang Meng et al.

Summary: This study demonstrated that nanocrystalline Fe83Si4B10P2Cu1 ribbons obtained through rapid annealing have higher crystallinity and finer alpha-Fe nanocrystallites compared to ribbons prepared through conventional annealing, leading to improved magnetic properties and bendability. Rapid annealing at 520 degrees C for 30 s successfully produced Fe83Si4B10P2Cu1 nanocrystalline ribbons with high saturation magnetization, low coercivity, and enhanced bendability suitable for electronic components with complex geometries.
