Summary: In this study, polar mononuclear Cu(II) and VO(II) complexes were synthesized using a sodium sulfonate ligand under green conditions. The complexes exhibited enhanced catalytic potential in the epoxidation of 1,2-cyclohexene, with the VO(II) catalyst showing higher efficiency than the Cu(II) catalyst. Furthermore, the complexes demonstrated significant antimicrobial, anticancer, and antioxidant potential compared to their free ligand, as evaluated through various biological assays. Conformational and in-silico studies were also conducted to support the newly synthesized complexes' properties.

Samar Y. Al-nami et al.

Summary: The study synthesized new Cu(II) complexes and characterized them using analytical, spectral, and conformational techniques. The complexes were found to behave as bidentate ligands towards the copper center, with two proposed structural forms. Conformational studies were conducted using DFT method, and functional parameters were calculated, further confirmed by QSAR parameters and MOE-docking module. The data suggest potential biological efficiency of the complexes against breast cancer cells, with promising anticancer screening results.
