Complexes of Copper and Iron with Pyridoxamine, Ascorbic Acid, and a Model Amadori Compound: Exploring Pyridoxamine's Secondary Antioxidant Activity

Guillermo Garcia-Diez et al.

Summary: The thermodynamic stability of Cu(II) and Fe(III) complexes was studied, with a focus on the secondary antioxidant activity of pyridoxamine (PM). Results showed that PM significantly reduced the rate constant of the first step of the Haber-Weiss cycle, inhibiting the production of hydroxyl radicals.

Thermodynamic Study on the Dissociation and Complexation of Coumarinic Acid with Neodymium(III) and Dioxouranium(VI) in Aqueous Media

Luana Malacaria et al.

Summary: In this study, the complexation of HCCA with neodymium(III) and dioxouranium(VI) was evaluated, and overall stability constants of the resulting complexes were determined. The ligand-to-metal concentration ratio played a key role in determining the formation of different complexes with varying degrees of deprotonation. Speciation profiles obtained from potentiometric titrations showed the formation of various complexes with different ligand-to-metal ratios.
