Gas separation and water desalination performance of defect-free interfacially polymerized para-linked polyamide thin-film composite membranes

Zain Ali et al.

Summary: This study reported defect-free crosslinked polyamide thin-film composite membranes with improved gas separation and desalination properties, showing great potential for hydrogen and helium separations. Through optimization of materials and reaction conditions, the membranes exhibited excellent performance for gas separation applications.

High-efficient removal of arsenite by coagulation with titanium xerogel coagulant

Xiaomeng Wang et al.

Summary: Titanium xerogel coagulant (TXC) showed superior performance over titanium sulfate (TS) and titanium tetrachloride (TC) under acidic conditions due to moderate pH decline during coagulation process. A dose of 10 mg Ti/L TXC could remove over 90% of As(III) at pH 7.0 and 8.0. The enhanced mechanisms involved strong adsorption ability of in-situ formed flocs and binding affinity between As(III) and hydrolysates.

Removal of arsenic(III) via nanofiltration: contribution of organic matter interactions

Youssef-Amine Boussouga et al.

Summary: The study found that in nanofiltration technology, the retention of As(III) significantly increased as the pH increased from 9 to 12, while the impact of salinity on As(III) retention was minor. Among different organic matter types, only humic acid (HA) was able to significantly increase As(III) retention.
