A novel monolithic mullite microfiltration membrane for oil-in-water emulsion separation

Mohammed Rashad et al.

Summary: Monolithic ceramic microfiltration membranes made of mullite crystals show excellent properties for oil-in-water emulsion separation, with high permeate flux and oil rejection rate. Compared to conventional asymmetric ceramic membranes, the fabrication of monolithic mullite membranes is more cost-effective and can be a viable alternative for oil-in-water emulsion separation.
