Obtaining, structure and gas sensor properties of nanopowder metal oxides

Yu Venhryn et al.

Summary: This study investigated the formation and properties of nanopowder metal oxides through pulsed laser ablation in chemically active environments. Molecular dynamics simulations and density-functional theory studies were used to analyze the formation process of ZnO nanoclusters and the properties of (ZnO)(n) nanoclusters with native point defects. The research also explored the influence of surface doping by impurities on the sensitivity and selectivity of gas adsorption, and selected optimal luminescent gas-sensitive materials for building a multielement gas sensory matrix with the ability to detect multiple gases simultaneously.
