Fully automated intracardiac 4D flow MRI post-processing using deep learning for biventricular segmentation

Philip A. Corrado et al.

Summary: This study evaluates the use of automatic ventricular segmentation based on deep learning in 4D flow MRI post-processing. The results show that the automated segmentation method provides hemodynamic measurements that differ less than the variation between manual observers, thus reducing post-processing time and mitigating interobserver variability.

Using Deep Learning to Emulate the Use of an External Contrast Agent in Cardiovascular 4D Flow MRI

Mariana Bustamante et al.

Summary: This study developed and evaluated a deep learning architecture to enhance blood-tissue contrast in noncontrast 4D flow MRI by emulating the use of an external contrast agent. The results showed significant improvements in contrast, CNR, SNR, and segmentation accuracy with the neural network enhanced images. The proposed approach could potentially improve data quality, visualization, and postprocessing of cardiovascular 4D flow data.

Reproducibility of Aorta Segmentation on 4D Flow MRI in Healthy Volunteers

Joe F. Juffermans et al.

Summary: This study assessed the interexamination, interobserver reproducibility, and intraobserver repeatability of aortic lumen segmentation on 4D flow MRI. The results showed comparable reproducibility and repeatability for each parameter. Excellent reproducibility and repeatability were observed for maximal diameter, while good reproducibility and repeatability were found for curvature radius.
