Tunable electronic properties of porous graphitic carbon nitride (C6N7) monolayer by atomic doping and embedding: A first-principle study

A. Bafekry et al.

Summary: The effects of doping and embedding different atoms on the structural and electronic properties of C6N7 monolayer were investigated. Doped C6N7 with B, N, C, and O atoms were found to be stable and suitable for experimental fabrication. The doped C6N7 monolayers exhibited metallic, dilute-magnetic semiconductor, or half-metal behavior. The embedding of various atoms also affected the electronic and magnetic properties of C6N7.

Electrochemical sensing and photocatalytic degradation of 2,4-dinitrophenol via bismuth (III) oxide nanowires

Balwan Singh et al.

Summary: In this study, one-dimensional Bismuth (III) oxide (Bi2O3) nanostructures were used as selective materials for the electrochemical sensing of 2,4-Dinitrophenol (2,4-DNP). The Bi2O3 nanowires successfully degraded 2,4-DNP under visible light in 600 minutes, offering an economical, facile, and low-temperature method for the application of Bi2O3 nanowires in integration devices.

Two-dimensional porous graphitic carbon nitride C6N7 monolayer: First-principles calculations

A. Bafekry et al.

Summary: The research investigated the optical, structural, mechanical, and electronic properties of the C6N7 monolayer using density functional theory (DFT) method. It was found that the shear modulus and Young's modulus of C6N7 are smaller compared to graphene, with a significant Poisson's ratio. The bandgap of C6N7 is 1.2 (1.97) eV, and its electronic dispersion is almost isotropic, making it more active in the ultraviolet region.
