Antimicrobial, computational, and molecular docking studies of Zn (II) and Pd (II) complexes derived from piperidine dithiocarbamate

Ahmed S. M. Al-Janabi et al.

Summary: Mixed ligand complexes of Zn (II) and Pd (II) were prepared with different amine ligands, such as Bipy, Phen, and 3Apy. Characterization of the obtained complexes and testing of their antimicrobial activity were conducted. Additionally, density functional theory calculations were performed to evaluate the physical and chemical parameters of the complexes.

Inhibition of SARS-CoV-2 reproduction using Boswellia carterii: A theoretical study

Mustafa M. Kadhim et al.

Summary: This study investigated the potential of using alphaBoswellic acid (ABA) and beta-Boswellic acid (BBA) from Boswellia carterii to inhibit the SARS-CoV-2 virus through docking studies. The results showed that ABA and BBA could bind to the virus spike, potentially inhibiting its replication. Additionally, the lethal concentrations and molecular electrostatic potential of ABA and BBA were calculated and compared with hydroxychloroquine.
