Hydrogen bond donor and alcohol chain length effect on the physicochemical properties of choline chloride based deep eutectic solvents mixed with alcohols

Vincenzo P. Cotroneo-Figueroa et al.

Summary: Deep eutectic solvents, as alternatives to ionic liquids, have gained attention for their tunability, biodegradability, and low cost. In this study, deep eutectic solvents based on choline chloride and different alcohols were prepared and characterized. The effects of temperature variation, alcohol chain length, and hydrogen bond donor length on the properties of the mixture were investigated using experimental and predictive methods.

Straightforward activation of metal-organic framework UiO-66 for oxidative desulfurization processes

Alexandre M. Viana et al.

Summary: A novel chloride activation method was developed to enhance the catalytic activity of UiO-66(Zr) and UiO-66(Hf) materials in oxidative desulfurization reactions. The activation treatment significantly improved the catalytic performance of the materials, even after multiple reaction cycles, without structural degradation of the catalyst. This cost-effective method shows promise for efficiently activating catalytic MOF materials and expanding their catalytic applications.
