Effects of salicylic acid treatment on fruit quality and wax composition of blueberry (Vaccinium virgatum Ait)

Bo Jiang et al.

Summary: Salicylic acid can delay the deterioration of blueberry fruit quality, enhance its resistance to disease, and affect the composition of cuticular wax. There was no significant difference in the structure of epicuticular wax between salicylic acid-treated fruits and the control group.

Postharvest Application of 6-Benzylaminopurine Preserves Quality and Delays Senescence of Pointed Gourd (Trichosanthes dioica Roxb.) Fruit

Nitin Yadav et al.

Summary: This study investigated the effect of postharvest treatment with 6-benzylaminopurine on pointed gourd fruit. The results showed that 3.0 mM BAP-treated fruits had lower weight loss and chlorophyll loss, higher levels of ascorbic acid, total phenol, and total flavonoids. The treatment also delayed senescence and reduced accumulation of malondialdehyde and total carotenoids.

Exogenous polyamine treatment preserves postharvest quality, antioxidant compounds and reduces lipid peroxidation in black plum fruit

Shatakashi Mishra et al.

Summary: This study investigated the effect of pre-storage polyamines treatment on the quality and storability of black plum fruit. The results showed that the fruit treated with 1.0 mM putrescine (PUT) had the best effect in reducing weight loss and spoilage compared to the control. The treated fruits also retained higher levels of anthocyanins and minimized lipid peroxidation. The findings of this study can be beneficial in extending the storability and reducing postharvest loss of black plum fruit.
