Controllable synthesis of semiconductor nanocrystals is an attractive issue yet still remains challenging. Here, we describe our efforts toward this direction by a simple colloidal method to engineer quinary Cu3ZnInSnSe6 (CZITSe) nanocrystals with different crystal phases and shapes. In this work, wurtzite and zincblende CZITSe nanocrystals with different morphology could be selectively synthesized by tuning the addition order of the Se precursor to metal reactants solution. Furthermore, the optical and electrical behavior of the resultant nanocrystals exhibits obvious structure-dependent properties. This work will open new exciting avenues to explore the controllable synthesis of multicomponent semiconductor nanocrystals with metastable structures. (C) 2016 Published by Elsevier B.V.
