One-step fabrication of novel MIL-53(Fe, Al) for synergistic adsorption-photocatalytic degradation of tetracycline

Xueqi Chen et al.

Summary: Bimetallic MOFs (MIL-53 (Fe, Al)) were fabricated via a one-step solvothermal method and showed excellent performance in the removal of tetracycline from aqueous solutions. The optimum molar ratio of the bimetallic synthetic was found to be 3:2 (40%MIL-53(Fe, Al)). The 40%MIL-53(Fe, Al) catalyst exhibited high adsorption capacity and photocatalytic synergy, and maintained good stability after multiple cycles.

In-situ synthesis of biochar modified PbMoO4: An efficient visible light-driven photocatalyst for tetracycline removal

Zhifen Chen et al.

Summary: Efficient photocatalytic remediation of organic pollutants requires broad-spectrum light response and effective charge separation, which can be achieved through novel biochar (BC) modified PbMoO4 composite catalyst. The optimal composite ratio of PbMoO4 to BC was found to be 1:4, exhibiting enhanced visible light absorption and charge separation efficiency for improved water purification.

Integrated photocatalysis-adsorption-membrane separation in rotating reactor for synergistic removal of RhB

Junyang Zhang et al.

Summary: The synergistic system of integrated photocatalysis-adsorption-membrane separation in a rotating reactor effectively removes organic color pollutants by utilizing the combined effects of photocatalysis, adsorption, and membrane separation. The graphene oxide membrane layer, assisted by activated carbon, demonstrates high adsorption capacity in rejecting organic molecules, while Ag@BiOBr on the outer layer can degrade organics under visible light.

Highly synergic adsorption/photocatalytic efficiency of Alginate/Bentonite impregnated TiO2 beads for wastewater treatment

Soulaima Chkirida et al.

Summary: Green approaches have become a trend for solving aquatic environmental issues by satisfying the triple lines of sustainability. A new eco-friendly adsorbent with combined adsorption and photocatalytic properties was successfully designed and showed positive impact in the challenging wastewater sector. The morphology, pH-sensitive swelling behavior, and photocatalytic efficiency of the prepared beads were emphasized and validated through the removal of methylene blue from aqueous solutions.

Effect of Background Water Matrices on Pharmaceutical and Personal Care Product Removal by UV-LED/TiO2

Azar Fattahi et al.

Summary: The study evaluated the effectiveness of UV-LED-irradiated TiO2 in removing PPCPs in different water matrices, finding different removal kinetics for PPCPs in ultrapure water and synthetic water. The results also showed that the pH-corrected octanol/water partition coefficient correlated with degradation rate constants in ultrapure water, while molecular weight was associated with rate constants in synthetic water and wastewater.
