Stroke prevention and control system in China: CSPPC-Stroke Program

Bao-Hua Chao et al.

Summary: The China Stroke Prevention Project Committee has been actively promoting stroke prevention and control in China. With over 8.3 million people screened and followed up from 2012 to 2018, the committee has helped establish 380 stroke centers in mainland China and improved stroke care quality through monitoring and reporting. Further nationwide promotion of the program is needed to continue the progress.

Screening for cognitive impairment with the montreal cognitive assessment at six months after stroke and transient ischemic attack

Lijun Zuo et al.

Summary: This study aimed to establish the cutoff point of the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA-Beijing) for screening cognitive impairment at 6 months after ischemic stroke or transient ischemic attack (TIA). The results showed that the optimal cutoff point for MoCA-Beijing in discriminating patients with cognitive impairment from those with no cognitive impairment was 24/25, with predominant cognitive deficits in visuospatial ability.
