Photocatalysis activation of peroxodisulfate over the supported Fe3O4 catalyst derived from MIL-88A(Fe) for efficient tetracycline hydrochloride degradation

Xiu-Wu Zhang et al.

Summary: The Fe3O4@PBS (M-Fe3O4-T@PBS) catalyst, prepared by immobilizing MIL-88A(Fe) particles onto a commercial porous block substrate and further calcining at high temperatures, showed great potential for tetracycline hydrochloride (TC) degradation in wastewater under white light and sunlight irradiation. The catalyst exhibited high degradation efficiency, simple recyclability, and excellent reusability even after 30 successive cycles. The study also investigated the degradation mechanism and possible pathways of TC degradation using various analytical techniques. Overall, immobilized Fe-based MOFs derivatives catalysts have significant potential for real and large-scale wastewater treatment.
