Improvement in electrical conductivity characterization of chitosan/Poly (ethylene oxide) incorporated with V2O5 NPs via laser ablation

Nasser S. S. Awwad et al.

Summary: In this study, chitosan-PEO/V2O5 NPs composite films were successfully synthesized using one-potential laser ablation method. The properties of the synthesized films were characterized using XRD, UV-Vis, SEM, and Ac conductivity. The results showed the complexation between V(2)O(5) NPs and chitosan-PEO matrix, and a decrease in optical bandgap after doping with V2O5 NPs. The AC conductivity also exhibited frequency-dependent behavior.

Ameliorating strength-ductility efficiency of graphene nanoplatelet-reinforced aluminum composites via deformation-driven metallurgy

Yuming Xie et al.

Summary: 1.5 wt% graphene nanoplatelet-reinforced aluminum matrix composites were prepared using deformation-driven metallurgy to enhance the strength-ductility efficiency. The study focused on the strengthening-toughening behaviors related to the dispersion of graphene nanoplatelets, interfacial bonding, and grain refinement. Severe plastic deformation and dynamic recrystallization resulted in the uniform dispersion of graphene nanoplatelets and ultra-fine microstructures. The composites showed high-efficiency interfacial bonding and achieved self-compensating spatial continuity through the automatic flow of Al2O3 nanodots.

Graphene-reinforced potato starch composite films: Improvement of mechanical, barrier and electrical properties

Nedim Gurler et al.

Summary: Adding graphene to glycerol plasticized potato starch films improved tensile strength and electrical conductivity, but decreased light transmittance and increased opacity of the films. The interface interaction between graphene and potato starch films may be the reason for these improvements.

Effect of construction angles on microstructure and mechanical properties of AlSi10Mg alloy fabricated by selective laser melting

Xiaofeng Li et al.

Summary: This study investigated the effects of different construction angles on the microstructure and mechanical properties of AlSi10Mg alloys by fabricating seven bulks with different angles using selective laser melting. The results showed that increasing the construction angle changed the laser track segments and affected the grain structure in the vertical planes. The mechanical property anisotropy of the alloy was attributed to various factors such as pores, equiaxed grain structure, ultra-fine equiaxed sub-grains, and working hardening.
