Repeated low-velocity impact responses of SiC particle reinforced Al metal-matrix composites

Recep Ekici et al.

Summary: This study experimentally investigated the behavior of SiC reinforced aluminum 6061 metal-matrix composites under repeated low-velocity impacts. The results showed that the composites exhibited a tougher behavior with an increase in the impact numbers, especially due to the strain hardening effect. Furthermore, an increase in volume fraction resulted in an increase in impact strength under both repeated and single impacts.

Fabrication of Al-Si/Mg2Si in-situ composite by friction stir processing

M. H. Daneshifar et al.

Summary: In this research, FSP was utilized for the first time to fabricate Al/Mg2Si in-situ composites, demonstrating the ability of FSP to produce composites with fine and uniform distribution of the reinforcement phase. The hardness of the prepared composite showed a moderate improvement compared to the base alloy treated with FSP.

Experimental investigation of textile structure reinforced composite leaf spring for their cyclic flexural and creep behaviour

Vikas Khatkar et al.

Summary: This study focused on the cyclic flexural strength and time dependent creep behavior of E-glass/epoxy-based composite leaf springs with different textile structures. It was found that 3D woven orthogonal structures exhibited improved performance, with the 3S1B stuffer-binder combination showing the highest initial flexural strength.
