Bi-Fe chalcogenides anchored carbon matrix and structured core-shell Bi-Fe-P@Ni-P nanoarchitectures with appealing performances for supercapacitors

Summary: In this study, nanostructured bismuth-iron chalcogenide anchored on multiwalled carbon nanotube framework (Bi-Fe chalcogenide/C)-based electrode materials were fabricated with enhanced electrochemical performances. These materials showed high specific capacitance, high-rate capability, and cyclic stability, due to the collaborative effect of multiple components and the structural and amorphous merits. The hybrid device using core-shell Bi-Fe-P@Ni-P as a positive electrode and amorphous Bi-Fe-P/C as a negative electrode delivered a high specific energy density at a power density together with good cyclic characteristics, showing the proficiency of heterostructured multicomponent electrodes for enhancing the electrochemical performance of asymmetric supercapacitors.

The electrode showed excellent conductivity and high specific capacitance, leading to unprecedented performance in terms of specific capacitance and cycling stability. The methodology used in this work could be extended to design novel nanomaterials for energy storage devices and other applications.

The device showed high specific capacity, good rate capability, high energy density, and excellent cycling stability. In situ Raman spectroscopy revealed the reversibility of the NiCo-CHH electrode and the energy storage mechanism involving synergistic effects of Ni and Co ions.

Phosphorylation of NiAl-layered double hydroxide nanosheets as a novel cocatalyst for photocatalytic hydrogen evolution

Summary: In this study, phosphorylated NiAl-layered double hydroxide (P-LDH) nanosheets were obtained and used as a novel cocatalyst in photocatalytic hydrogen evolution, showing superior activity compared to Pt-modified g-C3N4. The P-LDH had a higher surface work function than g-C3N4, leading to improved interfacial charge transfer rate, suppression of charge recombination, and lower surface overpotential. This research provides guidance for designing more effective cocatalysts for photocatalytic hydrogen evolution reactions.

Heteroatom-doped porous carbons derived from lotus pollen for supercapacitors: Comparison of three activators
