A Lagrangian Perspective on Tropical Anvil Cloud Lifecycle in Present and Future Climate

Blaz Gasparini et al.

Summary: The evolution of tropical anvil clouds plays a crucial role in determining the climatic effects in tropical convective regions, but the processes dominating this evolution are not well understood. By conducting simulations using a high resolution model, new insights have been gained into the evolution of anvil clouds, showing larger ice mixing ratios in a warmer climate. The positive mean anvil cloud feedback along trajectories is consistent with traditional cloud feedback calculation methods.
