The solubility profile and dissolution thermodynamic properties of minocycline hydrochloride in some pure and mixed solvents at several temperatures

Rongrong Li et al.

Summary: The solubility of alpha-minocycline hydrochloride was higher in alcohols compared with ethyl acetate and acetonitrile, possibly due to their ability to form hydrogen bonds with the solute molecule. In mixtures of ethyl acetate + methanol, the solubility values initially increased and then decreased with the mass fraction of methanol, reaching a maximum of 6.07 x 10(-3) at w = 0.60. The dissolution process was found to be endothermic and entropy driven, with solute-solvent interactions playing a significant role in the solubility behavior.

Differential pulse voltammetric determination of homovanillic acid as a tumor biomarker in human urine after hollow fiber-based liquid-phase microextraction

Vojtech Hrdlicka et al.

Summary: A novel method for determining the tumor marker homovanillic acid (HVA) in human urine was developed using a combination of HF-LPME and DPV techniques. The developed method was validated through optimization of conditions and standard addition method, showing accurate and reliable determination of HVA concentration.
