A Global Overview of Acute Coronary Syndrome Registries: A Systematic Review

Ehsan Nabovati et al.

Summary: The aim of this study was to identify and summarize the characteristics of ACS registries at national, multinational, and international levels. A total of 71 ACS registries were identified, with most being used in Europe. The majority of registries focused on measuring quality and enrolled all types of ACS patients. Patient characteristics, clinical characteristics, and treatment characteristics were recorded in all registries, and post-discharge follow-up information was recorded in 45 registries. Reviewing the results of this study can help countries without a registry to design their own based on the models implemented in leading countries.

A pH-Activatable MnCO3 Nanoparticle for Improved Magnetic Resonance Imaging of Tumor Malignancy and Metastasis

Xianglong Zhu et al.

Summary: MnCO3 nanorhombohedras (MnNRs) serve as an ultrasensitive T-1-weighted MRI contrast agent by responding to the tumor microenvironment, enhancing MR signal and enabling precise tumor diagnosis with improved visibility and contrast.

Late Gadolinium Enhancement Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Assessment of Substrate for Ventricular Tachycardia With Hemodynamic Compromise

John Whitaker et al.

Summary: The majority of data on tissue substrate for post myocardial infarction (MI) VT has been collected during hemodynamically tolerated VT, but this study aimed to characterize tissue at diastolic locations of VT with hemodynamic compromise (VT-HC) in a porcine model. The results show that non-transmural scar, mildly decreased tissue thickness, and steep gradients in tissue thickness are structural characteristics of the diastolic component of reentrant circuits in VT-HC.

Albumin-Templated Bi2Se3-MnO2 Nanocomposites with Promoted Catalase-Like Activity for Enhanced Radiotherapy of Cancer

Yuzhu Yao et al.

Summary: In this study, Bi2Se3-MnO2@BSA nanocomposites were successfully prepared via biomineralization, with Bi2Se3 and MnO2 acting as radiosensitizers and oxygen enhancers to improve tumor radiosensitivity. BSA templating provided high biocompatibility and stability to the nanocomposites, enhancing the efficacy of radiotherapy.

Ischemic Heart Disease: Noninvasive Imaging Techniques and Findings

Arlene Sirajuddin et al.

Summary: Ischemic heart disease is a major cause of death worldwide, with invasive coronary angiography being the standard method for diagnosing coronary artery stenosis. However, the high cost and risks associated with invasive procedures highlight the importance of noninvasive cardiac imaging modalities in the management of ischemic heart disease.

Noninvasive cardiovascular imaging for myocardial necrosis, viability, stunning and hibernation: evidence from an umbrella review encompassing 12 systematic reviews, 286 studies, and 201,680 patients

Francesco Nudi et al.

Summary: The review highlights the role of various imaging modalities in assessing myocardial necrosis, viability, stunning, and hibernation, with cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR) showing favorable results in diagnosing myocardial stunning or hibernation, while positron emission tomography (PET), single photon emission tomography (SPECT), and CMR independently have significant prognostic roles. Evidence regarding myocardial viability suggests support for coronary revascularization.
