Breeding latitude is associated with the timing of nesting and migration around the annual calendar among Purple Martin (Progne subis) populations

L. R. Neufeld et al.

Summary: This study reveals that breeding latitude influences migration timing and nesting timing in Purple Martins, with northern populations migrating and nesting later than southern populations. There is also a non-linear relationship between breeding latitude and seasonal events, with the most northern breeders showing more synchronization in timing.
