Assessing extreme maturities-Challenging examples from immature Jordanian to overmature Far Eastern unconventional formations

Bastian Sauerer et al.

Summary: This study investigates thermal maturity estimation in challenging formations using Raman spectroscopy. The Far Eastern samples were found to be more mature, while the Jordanian samples were relatively immature. Raman spectroscopy allows for more accurate prediction of hydrocarbon in place and potential for recovery.
