Synthesis of cuprous oxide nanoparticles on graphitic carbon nitride and reduced graphene oxide and their catalytic performance toward the reduction of 4-nitrophenol

Zhiling Xiang et al.

Summary: In this work, a Cu2O/g-C3N4-rGO hybrid catalyst with excellent catalytic performance in the reduction of 4-nitrophenol (4-NP) by NaBH4 has been fabricated. The structure-properties relationship of the as-prepared Cu2O/g-C3N4-rGO composites has been investigated and explained by various characterization techniques. The results show that the ultrafine Cu2O nanoparticles are stably anchored on g-C3N4-rGO hybrid, and the homogeneous dispersion of g-C3N4 on sheet-like rGO plays a key role in confining the ultrafine Cu2O nanoparticles to achieve excellent catalytic performance.
