Live yeast and yeast extracts with and without pharmacological levels of zinc on nursery pig growth performance and antimicrobial susceptibilities of fecal Escherichia coli

Summary: The study showed that the addition of pharmacological levels of Zn can increase the average daily gain and feed intake of pigs without increasing bacterial resistance. There were no significant effects observed on growth, fecal dry matter, or antimicrobial resistance of fecal E. coli from live yeast and yeast extracts.
