Multiple stressors can disrupt energy metabolism in aquatic ectotherms, altering energy fluxes within the organisms. Understanding and explaining energy trade-offs in response to multiple stressors is essential for assessing the fitness, productivity, and ecological functions of aquatic ectotherms.
