Atmospheric pressure chemical vapor deposition of indium oxide nanostructured films for photoelectrochemical application

T. M. Aper et al.

Summary: In this study, indium oxide nanostructured films were synthesized using hydrogen assisted atmospheric pressure chemical vapor deposition technique at different deposition temperatures. The films' surface morphology, crystallinity, and optical properties were characterized, and their photoelectrochemical (PEC) activity was investigated. The sample grown at 950 degrees C exhibited optimal PEC performance, with high photocurrent density, incident photon to current conversion efficiency, and applied bias to photon conversion efficiency. The superior PEC performance of the sample was attributed to the film composition, crystallinity, bandgap reduction, flat band potential, and charge carrier density.

Three dimensional rosette-rod TiO2/Bi2S3 heterojunction for enhanced photoelectrochemical water splitting

Abrar Ahmad et al.

Summary: In this study, a three-dimensional double layered rosette-rod TiO2/Bi2S3 heterojunction was successfully fabricated using a two-step hydrothermal method and solvothermal route. The seed layer approach was utilized to achieve uniform distribution of Bi2S3 and form a perfect heterojunction between TiO2 and Bi2S3. The photoelectrochemical performance testing showed that the synthesized RT_Bi2S3 photoanode demonstrated superior photocurrent density compared to other TiO2 and Bi2S3 based photoanodes reported in the literature.

Effect of synthesis method parameters on properties and photoelectrocatalytic activity under solar irradiation of TiO2 nanotubes decorated with CdS quantum dots

Aleksandra Pieczynska et al.

Summary: Experimental results showed that CdS-Ti/TiO2 nanocomposites exhibited more than twice higher photocatalytic and PEC IF degradation efficiency under UV-Vis irradiation compared to pristine Ti/TiO2. The presence of CdS quantum dots led to a greater contribution of h(+) and generation of other oxidants, enhancing the PEC activity of the nanocomposites.
