Seismic and Geodetic Crustal Moment-Rates Comparison: New Insights on the Seismic Hazard of Egypt

Rashad Sawires et al.

Summary: A comparative analysis of geodetic versus seismic moment-rate estimations in Egypt revealed distinct seismic and aseismic behaviors in different crustal seismic sources. The study showed that some sources exhibited prevailing aseismic behavior, while others demonstrated seismic deformation accounting for a significant fraction of the total deformational budget.
