Monarch butterfly optimization: A comprehensive review

Yanhong Feng et al.

Summary: Swarm intelligence involves the Monarch butterfly optimization (MBO) algorithm inspired by the migration behavior of monarch butterflies. Through migration and adjusting operations, individuals in MBO are updated to solve global optimization problems. This paper reviews the MBO algorithm, its modifications, applications, and suggests future research directions.

Designing corridor systems with modular autonomous vehicles enabling station-wise docking: Discrete modeling method

Zhiwei Chen et al.

Summary: Jointly designing vehicle dispatch headway and capacity is a new solution for demand-supply asymmetry in urban mass transportation. A customized branch and bound algorithm is proposed to efficiently solve the problem of MAV-based station-wise docking design, showing improvements over existing commercial solvers in solving real-world applications. The study contributes to urban mass transportation design methodology by extending from traditional fixed capacity design to modular autonomous vehicles under various operational factors.
