Photobiomodulation reduces oxidative stress in diabetic wounded fibroblast cells by inhibiting the FOXO1 signaling pathway

Naresh Kumar Rajendran et al.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the molecular mechanism of photobiomodulation (PBM) in attenuating oxidative stress in diabetic wounded fibroblast cells. The results showed that PBM treatment reversed elevated oxidative stress in diabetic cells by inhibiting the FOXO1 signaling pathway and activating the AKT pathway, ultimately promoting diabetic wound healing.

In Vitro Wound Healing Potential of Photobiomodulation Is Possibly Mediated by Its Stimulatory Effect on AKT Expression in Adipose-Derived Stem Cells

Naresh K. Rajendran et al.

Summary: The study found that photobiomodulation treatment can accelerate wound healing in adipose-derived stem cells (ADSCs) and significantly increase antioxidant enzyme levels in cells. By activating the AKT signaling pathway, reducing oxidative stress helps promote wound healing.

Mechanisms of PhotoBioModulation (PBM) focused on oral mucositis prevention and treatment: a scoping review

Elodie Courtois et al.

Summary: This review discusses the mechanisms of photobiomodulation (PBM) in the prevention and treatment of oral mucositis, focusing on its effects on tumor and healthy cells. There is controversy regarding the carcinogenic effect of PBM, with studies reporting that it may enhance malignant cell proliferation, suggesting a lack of protective effect. More prospective studies are needed to assess the impact of PBM on cancer cells for improving its use in oral mucositis prevention and treatment.

The complex role of Wnt ligands in type 2 diabetes mellitus and related complications

Xiaobo Nie et al.

Summary: Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a major chronic disease with increasing global prevalence, and the Wnt signalling pathways play crucial roles in its occurrence and progression. However, our understanding of the exact roles of Wnts in these diseases is still rudimentary due to the complexity of the pathways and the conflicting effects of different family members.

Low-Level Laser Irradiation Stimulates RANKL-Induced Osteoclastogenesis via the MAPK Pathway in RAW 264.7 Cells

Jae-Min Song et al.

Summary: In this study, the effects of low-level laser therapy (LLLT) on osteoclast differentiation were investigated. The results showed that LLLT enhanced the expression of NF-kappa B, MAPKs (ERK, p38), c-Fos, and NFATc1 in RAW 264.7 cells, leading to osteoclastogenesis. These findings suggest that low-level laser irradiation could be a potential treatment option for metabolic bone diseases requiring osteoclastic activity and bone formation.
