The SPECT imaging with [In-111]-girentuximab-F(ab')(2) did not discriminate between atovaquone-treated and control tumors due to differences in vessel density and necrosis affecting tracer uptake.

Development of a 68Ga-labelled PET tracer for carbonic anhydrase IX-overexpressed tumors using the artificial sweetener saccharin

Summary: In this study, a saccharin-based radiopharmaceutical (Ga-68-NOTA-SAC) was developed and evaluated as a PET tracer for CA IX-overexpressed tumors. The radiochemical purity and stability of Ga-68-NOTA-SAC in human and mouse serum was over 98%, and the PET image-based radioactivity distribution of all organs decreased over time. Ga-68-NOTA-SAC showed the highest tumor-to-muscle ratio at 90 min post injection, with growth rates of 88% at 60 min and 220% at 90 min compared to 30 min post injection. The potential of Ga-68-NOTA-SAC as a PET tracer is expected to contribute to diagnostic research on CA IX-overexpressed tumors due to its relatively simple synthesis method.
