Numerical analysis of deuterium migration behaviors in tungsten damaged by fast neutron by means of gas absorption method

Makoto Kobayashi et al.

Summary: The retention behavior of deuterium in tungsten damaged by fast neutrons and high-energy Fe2+ ions was studied to evaluate the tritium retention property of fusion reactor divertors. Results showed that the detrap energy of deuterium in neutron-irradiated tungsten was higher than in Fe2+ irradiated tungsten, indicating that voids formed by vacancy accumulation during neutron irradiation at high temperature may be the dominant deuterium trapping sites.

Rate equation theory for the hydrogenation kinetics of Mg-based materials

Jinzhi Cai et al.

Summary: The traditional shrinking-core model with a uniform solid product layer is insufficient to predict the kinetic transition behavior of H2 adsorption reactions. This study proposes a new model based on the inward growth of solid products on the solid surface, which shows improved prediction accuracy for various Mg-based materials. The model can also be used to analyze intraparticle diffusion and the impact of particle microstructure changes.
