Aggregation-Induced Emission Featured Supramolecular Tubisomes for Imaging-Guided Drug Delivery

Jie Yang et al.

Summary: In this study, the authors reported a hierarchical self-assembly strategy to prepare cylindrical aggregates (tubisomes) using an amphiphilic supramolecular bottlebrush polymer and a cyclic peptide nanotube as the noncovalent backbone. The tubisomes were introduced with an aggregation-induced emission (AIE) effect to exhibit excellent fluorescent properties. The fluorescence of both the tubisomes and the anticancer drug doxorubicin (DOX) can be quenched and recovered upon drug release, enabling in-situ imaging of drug release.

Alginate-based diblock polymers: preparation, characterization and Ca-induced self-assembly

Amalie Solberg et al.

Summary: Renewable resources can be utilized to prepare new types of stimuli-responsive polysaccharide-based block copolymers. Alginates, as natural polysaccharides, have unique properties, with G blocks playing a key role in binding calcium ions and hydrogel formation. By incorporating specific linkers, highly flexible polysaccharide-based block structures can be engineered for various applications.
