Investigation of magnetohydrodynamics in Ag-TiO2/water hybrid nanofluid in a Shamse knot shaped cavity

Yuan Ma et al.

Summary: This study numerically investigates the natural convection heat transfer of hybrid nanofluid (Ag-TiO2/water) in a complex cavity named Shamse knot shape, considering the effects of magnetic field, Rayleigh number, nanoparticle volume fraction, and hollow side length. The results show that the magnetic field has a negative impact on thermal performance, while the nanoparticle volume fraction significantly influences heat transfer efficiency. This research provides insights into the fluid flow and heat transfer characteristics influenced by various parameters in a complex cavity configuration.

Non-Darcian natural convection of a nanofluid due to triangular fins within trapezoidal enclosures partially filled with a thermal non-equilibrium porous layer

Sameh E. Ahmed

Summary: The numerical simulations investigated the convective transport due to triangular fins within an inclined trapezoidal enclosure containing a nanofluid layer and a non-Darcy porous layer. The study applied a local thermal non-equilibrium model and considered various cases based on the perimeter of the triangular fin. The results showed that the average Nusselt number increased significantly with varying Nield parameter and higher values of aspect ratio A and trapezoidal angle phi supported nanofluid activity.

The magnetic field on a nanofluid flow within a finned cavity containing solid particles

Abdelraheem M. Aly et al.

Summary: The ISPH method is used to analyze the effects of a magnetic field on thermosolutal convection of solid particles spreading within a finned cavity. The simulations show that solid particles tend to move towards the upper part of the cavity and the fins on the upper wall play a role in adjusting the spread of the particles. The blending between solid and fluid particles is influenced by an increase in the Hartman parameter, while the Soret and Dufour numbers reduce the blending of solid particles within a nanofluid flow.

Conjugate forced convection transient flow and heat transfer analysis in a hexagonal, partitioned, air filled cavity with dynamic modulator

Maruf Md Ikram et al.

Summary: This study focuses on the transient analysis of forced convection flow and heat transfer in a hexagonal cavity, incorporating a rotating blade and a flow modulator. Numerical results show an inverse relationship between heat transfer effectiveness and Biot and Rayleigh numbers, improving significantly with higher Reynolds number up to a critical state at Re-cr = 650. Higher Reynolds number also reduces the power spectrum of the system response.

On the flow patterns and thermal control of radiative natural convective hybrid nanofluid flow inside a square enclosure having various shaped multiple heated obstacles

Nilankush Acharya

Summary: This study investigates the impact of different heated obstacle shapes on the flow patterns of hybrid nanofluid inside a square enclosure, and reveals the effects of various parameters on hydrothermal patterns through experiments and model derivations. The results show that increasing Rayleigh number enhances the isotherms, with circular obstacles exhibiting extreme distortion, while other parameters show opposite effects on isotherms.

Heatline visualization of MHD natural convection heat transfer of nanofluid in a prismatic enclosure

Tarikul Islam et al.

Summary: This study numerically analyzes heat transport characteristics within a prismatic cavity filled with Cu-H2O nanofluid using the heatline method, considering different temperature boundary conditions. The results show that the heat transfer rate significantly affects thermal boundary conditions and the shape of nanoparticles, and higher Rayleigh numbers and nanoparticles volume fractions enhance the temperature transfer value significantly. Hartmann number has a positive impact on fluid flow and temperature transport.
