Summary: This study proposes a noninvasive method for identifying mammalian carnivore species and determining sex using carboxylic and sulfonic acids profiles obtained from scats. The method allows for unambiguous identification and sex determination through digital coding, even among closely related and ecologically similar species. Furthermore, the method is low-cost and time efficient.
