Chemical binding of horseradish peroxidase enzyme with poly beta-cyclodextrin and its application as molecularly imprinted polymer for the monitoring of H2O2 in human plasma samples

Sanam Sardaremelli et al.

Summary: In this study, a selective and sensitive molecular imprinting-based electrochemical sensor for horseradish peroxidase entrapment was successfully fabricated using electro polymerization of ss-Cyclodextrin on the surface of a glassy carbon electrode. The developed biosensor showed excellent analytical results for the detection of HRP and hydrogen peroxide, with a wide linear range and high sensitivity. Additionally, the biosensor was effectively used for detecting hydrogen peroxide in unprocessed human plasma samples.

An investigation into three-dimensional octahedral multi-nuclear Ni(II)-based complexes supported by a more flexible salamo-type ligand

Ya-Juan Li et al.

Summary: Two new tri- and tetra-nuclear Ni(II)-based complexes were successfully synthesized with a more flexible salamo-type ligand H2L. The tetra-nuclear complex was obtained through intramolecular self-assembly due to the improved flexibility of the salamo-type ligand H2L. The fluorescence properties, supramolecular structure, and DFT calculations of the complexes were studied in detail.

Synthesis, structures and fluorescent properties of two cadmium(II) coordination polymers based on bis(benzimidazole) and different anions

Xinzhao Xia et al.

Summary: Two new Cd(II) coordination polymers were prepared using a hydrothermal method and characterized as one-dimensional and two-dimensional structures. The control of the coordination polymer structure was achieved by the selection of anions with different coordination modes, with weak hydrogen bonds and π···π interactions being the major driving forces in crystal packing. Fluorescence properties study in the solid-state showed weakened fluorescence peaks for both ligands and coordination polymers, attributed to ligand-centered fluorescence and partial quenching caused by π···π stacking and heavy atom effects.

Novel structurally characterized Co(II) metal-organic framework and Cd(II) coordination polymer self-assembled from a pyridine-terminal salamo-like ligand bearing various coordination modes

Ji-Fa Wang et al.

Summary: Two novel Co(II) metal-organic framework and Cd(II) coordination polymer were self-assembled from a newly designed ligand and metal ions. Co(II) MOF has a double helix structure and regular channels, while Cd(II) CP has large pore channels. The stability of these materials was confirmed through TGA analyses.

A series of new hetero-decanucleus sandwich Cd-Ln clusters constructed from open-chain ether Schiff base and niacin ligands: Synthesis, structure, luminescence and antioxidant activity

Geng Zhang et al.

Summary: Three heteronuclear Cd-Ln clusters based on open-chain ether Schiff and niacin have been synthesized and structurally characterized, containing sandwich-type polycationic units. Solid-state luminescence studies revealed emission peaks of the H2L ligand, while in solution only emission peaks of [CdL] coordination units were observed.

Two 1D double-chain silver coordination polymers constructed by Ag-Ag bonds: Synthesis, structure and properties

Lixian Xia et al.

Summary: Two new one-dimensional double-chain Ag(I) coordination polymers were synthesized and characterized. The structures of these polymers are different, with one being linear and the other being zigzagged. The fluorescence properties of the Ag(I) coordination polymers differ from the ligands, showing weakened fluorescence peaks attributed to ligand-centered fluorescence.

Mert Olgun Karatas et al.

Summary: Two novel silver(I) complexes with ionic N-donor benzimidazoles have been synthesized and characterized, showing high solubility and stability in water. While they do not demonstrate significant anti-growth effects against cancerous human cells, they exhibit remarkable antimicrobial effects against a range of microorganisms, including both Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria, and fungi, at normalized minimum inhibitory concentrations (normalized MICs) between 33-268 μM.

Recent progress in production and usage of hydrogen peroxide

Shunichi Fukuzumi et al.

Summary: This review focuses on recent progress in the production of hydrogen peroxide by solar-light-driven oxidation of water and its usage as a green oxidant and fuel. The combination of photocatalytic 2e(-) oxidation of water and 2e(-) reduction of dioxygen provides the best efficiency as both processes afford hydrogen peroxide.
