Synthesis and comparative study on the structural and optical properties of ZnO doped with Ni and Ag nanopowders fabricated by sol gel technique

S. Al-Ariki et al.

Summary: The study showed that doping with Ni and Ag can influence the crystalline structure and optical properties of ZnO, with an increase in Ag content leading to an increase in the average grain size of Ag-ZnO. The band gaps of Ni-ZnO and Ag-ZnO were lower than undoped ZnO, with Ag-ZnO having lower band gaps than Ni-ZnO. The optical properties of ZnO were enhanced by Ni (mol.%) in the UV region and by Ag (3 and 5 mol.%) in the visible region.
