NaSrR(BO3)2 (R = Ho-Lu, Y, Sc) compounds with disordered positions of Sr2+ and Na+ atoms and interconnected RO6 polyhedra through BO3 groups were successfully synthesized. These compounds exhibit high transparency in the range of 250-900 nm, making them promising for phosphor applications.
NaSrR(BO3)2(R = Ho-Lu, Y, Sc) compoundswere obtained for thefirst time. Their structures exhibit disorderedpositions of Sr2+and Na+atoms while RO6polyhedra areconnected through the BO3groups. Large distances between Ratoms and high transparency in the range of 250-900 nm makethem promising for phosphor applications. A pathway to obtainsingle crystals was shown by growing NaSrY(BO3)2and NaSrYb-(BO3)2by the top seeded solution growth method with Na2O-B2O3-NaFflux.
