The manufacturing industry plays a crucial role in a country's productivity level and economic development, but it also brings about environmental pollution and resource scarcity. Therefore, researching Green Shop Scheduling Problems (GSSPs) has become an important topic, aiming to reduce resource consumption and environmental pollution while achieving economic benefits through behavior control. In the context of Industry 4.0, GSSPs require re-examination and study.
The manufacturing industry directly reflects the productivity level of a country and plays an important role in economic and social development. However, with the development of the manufacturing industry, problems such as environmental pollution and resource shortage have gradually come to the fore, seriously affecting the long-term development of the economy and society. Under this background, Green Shop Scheduling Problems (GSSPs), a key aspect of manufacturing, have become a hot topic of research. GSSPs influence inputs and outputs through controlling behaviors in the production process to reduce resource consumption and environmental pollution, while achieving economic benefits. Especially in the context of Industry 4.0, traditional industry boundaries are gradually blurred and GSSPs have undergone some changes required be re-examined and studied. First, this paper analyzes the journal articles published in Web of Science in the past 30 years from multiple perspectives. Then, the problem classification, related models, and solution methods of GSSPs are introduced. In particular, the current status of studies on GSSPs in the context of Industry 4.0 is presented. Finally, further research directions for GSSPs in the future are suggested. (C) 2022 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
