Ablation Response Behavior under Different Heat Flux Environments for Liquid Silicone Rubber Composites

Liwei Yan et al.

Summary: Liquid silicone rubber-based composites were used to investigate the response behavior of ablative materials under different hyperthermal environments. Computational fluid dynamics simulation showed that oxyacetylene flames have similar temperature distributions with different heat fluxes, but gas flow scouring force increases significantly with increasing heat flux. The ablation performance decreases with higher heat flux, mainly due to the hybrid coupling between mechanical denudation and oxidative erosion.

Eco-friendly green synthesis of ZnO/GQD nanocomposites using Protoparmeliopsis muralis extract for their antibacterial and antibiofilm activity

Somaye Rashki et al.

Summary: Lichens are promising antimicrobial agents that could potentially replace traditional antibiotics due to their broad-spectrum and potent antimicrobial activity. The study found that the combination of ZnO/GQDs NCs and Protoparmeliopsis muralis extract demonstrated strong antibacterial activity, reducing bacterial CFU/ml by 5-log compared to P. muralis within 4 days. Additionally, the nanocarrier showed significant inhibition of biofilm formation in MRSA and VRE strains.

Improved Performances of SiBCN Powders Modified Phenolic Resins-Carbon Fiber Composites

Wenjie Yuan et al.

Summary: The study investigated the impact of SiBCN powder on phenolic resins and composites, revealing that SiBCN powder modification improved thermal stability and oxidation resistance. The reactions between SiBCN powder and phenolic resin pyrolysis products, as well as the protective crust formed on the composite surface, were identified as key factors. Additionally, the introduction of SiBCN powder reduced the linear and mass ablation rates of the carbon fiber composites, enhancing their ablation resistance.
