Network reconfiguration and distributed energy resource scheduling for improved distribution system resilience

Qingxin Shi et al.

Summary: In this paper, an outage management strategy is proposed to enhance distribution system resilience through network reconfiguration and DER scheduling. The proposed algorithm identifies radial network topology and solves an optimal DER scheduling problem to minimize cumulative costs. Simulations show that the strategy allows a relatively high percentage of load to remain in service after line faults and has advantages in systems with open tie lines and low DER penetration.

Power System Resilience Enhancement in Typhoons Using a Three-Stage Day-Ahead Unit Commitment

Tao Ding et al.

Summary: A three-stage resilient unit commitment model is proposed to enhance the power system's resilience against typhoon events by considering uncertainty in typhoon paths and line outages. Resources are coordinated based on worst-case scenarios for each possible typhoon path, involving preventive control, emergency control, and restoration stages. The model is tested on the IEEE 118-bus system and a real-world provincial system to validate its effectiveness.

Optimal Stochastic Operation of Integrated Electric Power and Renewable Energy With Vehicle-Based Hydrogen Energy System

Chengcheng Shao et al.

Summary: This paper proposes an optimal operation strategy for the integrated electric power and hydrogen system (IPHS) using hydrogen tube trailers for transportation. The solution method based on the alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM) coordinates HES and EPS constraints. Case studies verify the validity of the model and confirm the necessity of considering HES in enhancing EPS operation.
