High sensitivity liquid level sensor based on a hollow core fiber structure

Lifeng Bao et al.

Summary: A high sensitivity liquid level sensor is proposed and demonstrated by using a 15-mm-long hollow core fiber sandwiched between two single mode fibers. High sensitivity of 7.64 and 9.74 dB/mm are achieved for water and ethanol liquid level measurements, respectively. The maximum measurement range is 2.2 mm for water, making it a potential candidate for discrete liquid level measurement.

Surface Plasmon Resonance Sensor Based on Double-Sided Polished Microstructured Optical Fiber With Hollow Core

Donglian Hou et al.

Summary: The surface plasmon resonance sensor based on double-sided polished microstructured optical fiber with hollow core is proposed for refractive index sensing, which utilizes two gold films as microfluidic sensing channels for the analyte. The sensor demonstrates narrower resonance spectral width and greater phase sensitivity compared to the D-shaped design, with good stability under fabrication tolerances.
