A nonlinear multiscale inversion approach for ambient noise tomography

Ivan Cabrera-Perez et al.

Summary: In this work, an innovative technique for Ambient noise tomography based on nonlinear multiscale inversions is proposed, which shows improvement compared to conventional inversion schemes when ray path density is low. Additionally, no expensive computational resources are required for this technique, making it suitable for small-scale industrial applications, especially in geothermal exploration.

Detection of volcanic unrest onset in La Palma, Canary Islands, evolution and implications

Jose Fernandez et al.

Summary: The study successfully detected signs of volcanic unrest on La Palma island through satellite radar observations and advanced interpretation techniques, providing an early warning decades before a potential eruption. The results show the changing nature of activity in space and time, providing new insights into the dynamic nature of associated volcanic hazards.
