Deformation-enhanced recrystallization of titanite drives decoupling between U-Pb and trace elements

Summary: Titanite is a common accessory mineral used for age and pressure-temperature determinations, but prone to recrystallization during metamorphism. The study on deformed titanite crystals from Norway revealed some grains recording exhumation dates and others with inherited isotopic compositions. Many trace elements in titanite are unaffected by deformation-driven recrystallization, but lead is variably mobile in deformed titanite crystals.
